~Glengarry School of Dance sprang from the annual CeltFest summer school held in Nanaimo. The dance school, unique in its offerings of live music and Celtic cultural experiences, is celebrating five years on Vancouver Island with its principal Carolyn Phillips-Cusson bringing three decades of dance teaching to her students. www.glengarrydance.com
~Celtic Chaos~ No stranger to anyone who attends Celtic music events in our area, the accomplished traditional band "Celtic Chaos" consists of Dave Barta on accordion, Joyce Beaton on fiddle, John Beaton on poetry, and Gordon LeFleur on Irish flute an pennywhistle, and Joe Spinelli on bass. Together they perform songs and tunes from all over the Celtic world, including Scotland, Ireland, Quebec, Cape Breton, Appalachia and even Sweden! ~Megan Phillips~ a talented entertainer, actor, writer, choreographer and producer, Megan has many live theatre credits to her name, and has most recently debuted her one-woman show she wrote and performed in at the Toronto, Vancouver, and New York Fringe Festivals. ~Rene Cusson~ a master piper extraodinaire, Rene has a varied career of garnering many major awards for his music, leading bands, and guest performing with such notable Celtic bands as Dochas and Breabach from Scotland, and also with Beolach and the Barra MacNeils from Cape Breton. This summer he was honoured to back up Paul McCartney in performing "Mull of Kintyre" to tens of thousands! Rene's original compositions have been classics all over the world, in both the piping and folk music arenas.
