Accordion

ANNOUNCING CELTFEST TRAD BAND: This year, CeltFest is delighted to present a comprehensive music school featuring many disciplines, which, though, taught separately, come together during CeltFest week to form a special ensemble---TRAD BAND. This is open to all full-time students registered in Celtic Music School instrumental subjects, and will take place in Block 6 (4:00-5:00) following the day program.

Programme

Beginner Piano Accordion - is an introduction to playing Irish and Scottish tunes for those who have little experience or who may be trying the piano accordion as a piano player.  It will cover the basics of the instrument.

Intermediate Piano Accordion offers the opportunity to learn Irish and Scottish tunes and the ornament style most suited to the piano accordion as well as learning to develop speed and ‘lift’. Students should have some familiarity with the instrument.

Intermdiate & Advanced Piano Accordion:  This workshop is for competent players interested in improving their understanding and interpretation of Celtic music. We will explore the technical aspects of keyboard technique, bellows control, fingering, ornamentation, phrasing, dynamics and breath control while increasing your repertoire of ornaments on jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas and barndances.
