Announcement: CeltFest 2009-the year of Youth!

Although several children have joined us each year this, more than any previous year, is a year of youth.

We are delighted to welcome The White Spot Pipe Band (lower mainland, BC), The North Shore Celtic Ensemble of fiddlers (lower mainland, BC), members of the Sir James MacDonald Pipe Band and Portland Metro Youth Pipe Band (Portland, Oregon), The Fort McMurray Highland Dancers (Alberta), as well as many smaller groups and individuals.

The North Shore Celtic Ensemble will be opening at the Old Blind Dogs Concert with a performance on Tuesday, July 7th at VIU's Malaspina Theatre. Watch for news of this delightful group of a dozen youth fiddlers gigging in downtown Nanaimo on the Waterfront next week! Also, the White Spot Pipe Band will do a brief performance to open the Sunset & Stars Gala on Thursday, July 9th at the Port Theatre.

These youth performances are in addition to the Ballagh Bunch, a family of four children who will be performing at the Wednesday night Family Pub Night.

With these young ones - the our future of perpetuating the Celtic traditions is secure!

Come see what we mean by coming to our concerts and ceilidhs

Carolyn, Rene and the CeltFest 2009 Committee.
