Dancers, Parents and Professionals:
SCHEDULE
FOR THE WEEK:
Summer
School:
Instruction
for Highland Dance starts with ORIENTATION
Sunday, July 5
in the evening. Regular CLASSES start 8:30 am Monday
and run till Friday,
July 10: 8:30-11:00.
The last classes on Friday are followed by ASSEMBLY
11: 00-12:15 and awards presentations.
All
dancers enrolling Full Time or in the Beginner/Novice
program are welcome to take Ceilidh Dance or Celtic
Song for a block a day without extra charge, and
these will be built into the program.
Pilates,
Celtic Step dance and performance enhancement programs
as well as other dance styles will also be scheduled
into the program. Other
electives, which may be taken during the day or
evening may be chose on your Registration Form.
The
first part of the week July 6-8 emphasizes dancer
conditioning, basic and advanced training in technique
in Highland and National Dances, as well as group
choreography.
Bootcamp session July 9-11 in the last part of the
week is
a "stepped" up program for competitive dancers. Attendance
for the full week is preferable, however late entry
is offered for dancers who may be coming late due
to competing in the Canadian Championships.
David Wilton is the principal teacher for this session.
A
Beginner/Novice part-time program
is offered for dancers who know just a few of their
basic dances. This course if offered Monday, Tuesday
and Wednesday for 2 blocks.
Professionals
may
audit classes at a reduced fee. Please obtain prior
permission by emailing info@celtfest.ca and
state which classes you are planning to attend.
Student
Performance Opportunities and Concerts:

at Vancouver Island University Theatre & Cafeteria: doors
open at 7:00 pm on Monday-- after ticketed performance
on Tuesday and Thursday: approx. 9:00+ Student-led
Performance Concert
Ceilidhs & CeltFestival Club,
open to all***
Students
are encouraged to come perform at the ceilidhs and
to co-laborate with their fellow classmates and
musicians. More information on will be provided
in your registration kit on Registration Day.

As
for all programs, dance
students may attend as Day or Stay-over students.
Meals are optional, but a good lunch is essential.
Lunches may be pre-ordered for Day students; see
the link when you register.
