"The old country can be proud that its fine Celtic traditions have been passed on to such a deserving lot. 10 tartans and shamrocks out of 10"  - Peter Rusland, Cowichan News Leader

For the twelfth year running, the Celtic cultures merge spectacularly in the CeltFest 2012 Vancouver Island finale, an exciting NEW showcase of world-renowned Celtic musical artists from east to west in Canada and around the world.

Among them are Champion fiddlers, dancers, pipers, drummers, Juno Award winners--performing artists who will be teaching and performing at the CeltFest 2012 international summer school & concert series at the College of Performing Arts that week. The all-star lineup includes: The Niamh Ni Charra Trio, direct from Ireland. Niamh, of Riverdance cast fame and much more, sparkles in performance from her golden fiddle, concertina, and vocal skills. Her band includes the brilliant guitarist Matt Griffin and the youthful flutist Cathall King, both from Dublin, Ireland, who together with Niamh, will grace our stage for the first time. Canadian Folk Music Awards and Juno Awards  nominee, Eileen McGann, from Mill Bay, joined by David K,  both CeltFest veterans, whose masterful songs only get sweeter each year, will again grace the CeltFest Gala stage.  BC "local heroes". Owen Barrington, fellow Riverdance castmember to Niahm Ni Charra in their last North American tour, will thrill all as he performs with all the grace and prowess of the Men's World Irish Dancing Champion that he is.  Master pipers  Rene Cusson, Jamie Troy will be returning by popular demand and piper/drummer Colin Magee, will make his debut performance at CeltFest this year.  CeltFest Dancers, also the Glengarry School of Celtic Dance, will keep your toes tapping and your hands clapping.

Often sold out, this crowd-pleaser event-- widely acknowledged as one of the best Celtic

variety shows in the west--- is not to be missed!  It is one the whole family will enjoy, that will leave you with a smile on your face!
