STEPHANIE CADMAN & OWEN BARRINGTON: Dancer-Musician Double Threats

Tuesday, July 17, 2012 - 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Canadian College of Performing Arts Auditorium
CeltFest

Appearing together for the first time, Stephanie Cadman and Owen Barrington each represent their own unique brands of dance and musical styles in their chosen fields of dance and music, home-grown right here in North America.

Fiddling and stepdancing her way into peoples' hearts, Stephanie  Cadman has come a long way since her mother, Gwen MacDonnell  Cadman, taught her her first steps of Ottawa Valley style stepdancing.  Whether it be Broadway musical appearances, playing fiddle and  dancing Celtic revue shows--many of which she has directed or  choreographed, Stephanie has proven her talents to far exceed the  double-threat category!

Owen Barrington, who has attended CeltFest frequently since his first  year as a teenaged Irish dance student ten years ago--is already a force  to be reckoned with both artistically and creatively. A new business  graduate, he has not let his academic studies slow him down as he  danced his way through may numerous tours and TV specials. A former  cast member of Riverdance, Owen has recently been lead dancer in both  "Michael Londra’s Beyond Celtic”, which was aired recently as a PBS        special, and “Celtic Fire”.  Not only that, Owen is a professional class      Highland bagpiper!

Indeed the prowess of these two young artists epitomizes all that CeltFest and our festival's patrons embrace: a cross over from music, to dance, and back to music!  And, letting 'er rip in the process!

This high-energy double-header by these double threat artists is not to be missed!
