REGISTER for SUMMER SCHOOL>>

CeltFest Summer School 2012 runs Sunday, July 15 (evening orientation) to Friday, July 20 with classes ending at lunch on Friday. Day classes are typically 1.5 hours long and run from 9:00am to 4:15 pm with lunch from 12:00pm - 1:15pm. The schedule is based on four classes/day...2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Optional elective subjects (aka "evening classes") run after dinner and before the evening events for 1.5 hours (M, T, W, some run Thurs), planned to be 5:30-7:00.  Note, these also be open to non-students.

At the discretion of the instructors, there may be an additional block of time after 4:30 for special activities, for example : Piping & Drumming Band Practices, Dance Choreography, special rehearsals for performance, and see Trad Band note below) . These are usually scheuled by instructors once they meet their students.

There are also OPTIONAL "bonus" WEEKEND workshops on July 14 and 15 that are open to all registered full-time CeltFest students that are free of charge.             more>>

Full-time study--the "norm"

Full-time study is what CeltFest School is set up for. This year, students choose one major subject, and a optional daily elective subject. A typical day offers approximately 6 1/2 hours of instruction from 8:00am to 4:15 pm. Full-time students who enroll in elective evening classes (scheduled from 5:30 to 7:00) should not experience any conflicts in their timetable. All students are entitled to complimentary Ceilidh dance in the last block of the regular day (2:45-4:15).

Part-time study within that day's framework

Part-time subjects already planned--and included on our 2012 "Full Time" Student Registration Form--include beginner/novice dancers to "get their feet wet", plus Gaelic instruction, Step Dancing, etc. Like all other subjects, it includes complimentary Ceilidh Dance class, expected to be scheduled in 4th block of the day (2:45).

Further to that, part-time study MAY be available in some subjects and with permission of CeltFest. Priority for class scheduling and student placement is given to full-time students. Please contact us if you are interested in part-time study.

Typical School Schedule

The final school schedule is established once registration closes and final attendance numbers are known. This will be sent to you in your information package prior to summer school commencing. However, with eleven CeltFest summer schools behind us, we can tell you an few 2012 details and that a typical summer school looks like this:
